Title: Advanced Cardiac Imaging: Echocardiography (Echo)
Location: US
Company: The University of Hong Kong
About this course:
This course is for cardiologists, cardiac sonographers/ technologists, anesthetists, emergency medicine physicians, radiologists and other health professionals who want to learn more about echocardiography. Previous experience in echocardiography is not required.
The learning outcomes are:
Understanding basic echocardiography physics, acquisition of echocardiographic images and how to assess commonly used echocardiography modalities (e.g. 2D view, M-mode, Doppler).
Ability to analyze echocardiography images such as parasternal, subcostal, suprasternal and apical views
Attain hands-on experience to analyze real clinical cases from a database of 50 anonymised clinical cases, using dedicated echocardiography software, as well as further supplementation through our web forum.
Understanding of future developments in echocardiography field such as 3D, 4D and artificial intelligence.
Provide career advice and thoughts from well-known echocardiography experts through exclusive interviews.
The HKU Advanced Cardiac Imaging Professional Certificate program on edX offers two concurrent courses, Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT) and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR), for students to learn complementary cardiovascular imaging techniques. The Cardiac Imaging course received the GOLD Award Winner of QS Reimagine Education Award 2021 in Life Sciences and it was also shortlisted as a finalist for the 2021 edX Prize.
