This course is designed for science students developing their research skills working on research projects for a principal investigator; specifically, this course will improve the students’ writing ability and introduce them to writing for the scientific community.
The course involves learning to write an abstract and literature review and understanding the protocols for writing a scientific paper based on lab or field data. Students will also prepare a PowerPoint presentation on their research to present at a meeting or conference such as the Maine Biological Science Symposium or the annual INBRE meeting.
