This minor will be helpful for any AUM student interested in adding depth or career flexibility to their major. Through coursework and class discussion, students learn the theoretical and practical foundations of the criminal justice system in general and law enforcement in particular. Law Enforcement is one of the four minor concentrations in the Criminal Justice program to choose from, in addition to Juvenile Justice, Corrections, and Security Administration.
The Minor in Law Enforcement at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice system and prepare them for careers in various fields related to law enforcement. The program emphasizes critical thinking, leadership, and practical skills through courses and experiential learning opportunities.
Students will learn to collect and evaluate information, draw conclusions, and serve the public interest by delivering truth and context. The program includes courses that cover topics such as criminal law, investigative methods, organizational administration, and criminal procedures.
