Unit 1: Understanding Neurodiversity
Objective: Gain an understanding of neurodiversity and identify various neurodivergent conditions.
Unit 2: Exploring Neurodivergent Conditions
Objective: Understand various neurodivergent conditions (ADHD, dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, audio-processing disorder, visual-processing disorder) and appreciate the diverse ways students learn and interact.
Unit 3: Classroom Management & Accommodations
Objective: Explore effective classroom management strategies and accommodations to create an inclusive environment for neurodivergent students. Learn to design classroom setups to minimize distractions and address specific challenges.
Unit 4: Engaging All Minds: Effective Strategies for Teaching Neurodivergent Learners
Objective: Learn effective teaching strategies to support neurodivergent students and apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) frameworks to create flexible and diverse learning environments. Focus on practical teaching techniques to help neurodivergent students participate and succeed.
Unit 5: Adaptive Technologies & Tools for Neurodivergent Support
Objective: Students will learn about the role and benefits of assistive technology in education. They will explore real-life applications through a real case study, examining how various Ed-Tech tools, apps, and resources can support diverse learning needs. Students will be able to evaluate and recommend suitable technologies to enhance learning experiences for individuals with disabilities.
