Workforce Solutions offers credit and continuing education courses, seminars, workshops, and customized training. Workforce Solutions coordinates and administers workforce and professional development programs designed to meet the needs of industrial, business, governmental, and community organizations.

Workforce Solutions develops partnerships with regional organizations. Programs and services may be delivered at an organization’s site or a Northeast State facility and convenient to the employer.

Programs and Services

Apprenticeships - Apprenticeships sponsored by Northeast State Community College provide employers with a turn-key structured training process using the U.S. Department of Labor Standards of Apprenticeship. Each employee completing a sponsored apprenticeship is awarded a nationally recognized DOL certificate of completion. Programs are established as “Group Apprenticeship Programs,” enabling companies of all sizes to take advantage of apprenticeship training without having to manage a company-sponsored program.

Advanced Manufacturing and Technical Skills - Program offerings include mechanical, electrical, machine tool technology, welding, basic instrumentation, refrigeration, and air conditioning, mechatronics, and technician training and certification by the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) and National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) craft training and certification.

Healthcare Programs - Short-term career training courses prepare participants to take the national certification exam in Phlebotomy, EKG, and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. American Heart Association certification courses are offered in Heartsaver CPR AED/First Aid and Basic Life Support for healthcare providers.

Online Courses and Programs - Web-based industrial skills, business and professional development, computer training, short-term career training, and personal enrichment skills are available.

Contract Training and Services - Specialized training and services available upon request.

Workforce and Professional Programs - Continuing education courses, seminars, and workshops that focus on professional and workforce development needs are available in open enrollment, online formats, and customized programs. Career fields include education, healthcare, manufacturing, and service industries.

Business Management Programs - Training in world-class methods promotes sound business practices. Specific courses include ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, lean manufacturing and lean office, 5 S, Total Productive Maintenance, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Facilitator Training, Six Sigma Green Belt, and Six Sigma Black Belt. Subject matter experts provide the training in open events and in customized training events.

Computer Training - Courses range from basic computer literacy, cybersecurity, and other advanced information technology training. These courses provide instruction in the most current software packages.

Personal Enrichment Programs - An array of recreational, life, and leisure courses and personal and cultural enrichment programs are available in online formats.
