Job Description:
The Manager, Project Manager is responsible for the management of Operations efforts relating to contract execution, and is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring projects from beginning to end, according to strict deadlines and budgets. This position will work with cross-functional groups to meet strategic company goals and objectives, as well as other activities in-accordance with customer's contractual requirements. The Manager will oversee cost and schedule conformance across a portfolio of projects by ensuring the effective execution of procurement, build, and test activities.
Essential Functions:
- Act as a subject matter expert leading all aspects of the Rapid Prototype and IRAD process from proposal through program award and execution.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop project team members.
- Establishes short-term operational plans with measurable contribution to function or business area results.
- Effectively collaborate with Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance teams.
- Develop, present, and deliver comprehensive presentations to the project team, upper management, and customer personnel in a clear and concise manner.
- Work with functional leaders to perform analysis and identify areas for performance improvement.
- Serve as a role model for integrity, inclusion, and diversity.
- Maintain responsibility for succession planning, organizational and talent development.
- Establish, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
- Identify and coordinate resources necessary for quick reaction, development efforts.
Experience in collaborating with Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and other cross-functional groups.
Knowledge of MRP/ERP and the application of IRAD and Rapid Prototype methodologies.
Experience creating and briefing executive-level presentations.
Demonstrated earned value / cost account management experience.
Experience developing a team environment and championing improvement initiatives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical environment.
Report out regularly to senior and executive level Management.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years prior related experience.
