The Electrical Technology Program at Pearl River Community College is designed to lead to a Career Certificate, Technical Certificate, or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electrical Technology.
The program prepares individuals to install, operate, maintain, and repair electrical systems such as residential, commercial, and industrial electrical wiring, and conduit systems, commercial lighting, DC motors, AC motors, motor controls, programmable logic control, and electrical distribution panels.
Instruction includes in-depth training in many aspects of the electrical field.
In the classroom, students learn electrical theory, blueprint reading, and mathematics pertaining to the field of electrical technology, electrical code requirements, and safety.
