We aren't looking for a 'desk assistant'were looking for a hands-on Event Operations Specialist to help us run everything from high-volume concerts to adventure races.The Concert & Events Production Lead reports directly to the Programming Manager and Director and is responsible for a multitude of tasks during our concert series and special event programming.  These tasks include loading in and out of bands and vendors, setting up checking in area, overseeing opening & closure of bathroom facilities, bar back during high volume events and being the point of contact for security and cleaning vendors. The Event Staff Assistant ay also be asked to help  serve our alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and assist in setting up the variety of event areas required for specific event  programming.   This is a seasonal position requiring candidates to be 21+PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Concert & Events Production Lead responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Communicates with guests and other employees verbally and in possibly stressful situations to answer questions and provide clear direction and solutions with patience and tactFollows Local Operating Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and general safety regulations.  Answers basic questions regarding the operation of the park and ropes courseAssisting guests as they check-out, utilizing our point-of-sale system for both retail and F&B offeringsHave knowledge of spirits/beer/wine, the ability to maintain an appealing and Guest-ready bar area and have outstanding service abilityMaintains a knowledge of park offerings, amenities, events, as well as answers to frequently asked questionsActs as an ambassador of The Forge, informing guests not only about the adventure and entertainment experiences but also of the nature surrounding them once onsiteAssess patrons and follow Dram shop law and state regulations in proper alcohol service.Screens, and assesses guests through observation and guest interactionDemonstrates the core values of The Forge: Lemont Quarries in guest and staff interactionsReports to F&B Lead and Managers, works closely with other event staff to ensure clear and consistent communication and services to guestsShows good stewardship of park equipment, facilities, and productCan/will be directed to complete tasks such as cleaning and breakdownWill assist with event or concert check in procedures Dependent on size of event or concert, may be asked to help with parking lot duties  Will occasionally act as traffic attendant for Boyer Road crossing  QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:Must be 21+ years of ageCustomer service skills required to answer guest questions and respond to guest complaints in a professional and courteous mannerCommunication skills to be able to deliver information in a clear and professional mannerHas the ability to follow directions and complete tasks as directed by management with and without constant supervision. Must be receptive to coaching and feedbackMust be punctual and responsible with the ability to consistently show up for scheduled shiftsMust be able to work outside in all weather conditions  including sun, rain, wind, and extreme heat/cold for extended periods. Job may require employees to be outside for the entirety of a shiftBasic computer literacy to assist with guest check-in and assistance at and POS locationAvailability to work on nights and weekendsIL BASSET certificationPHYSICAL AND SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:Because our park is located in a natural, outdoor, wooded location, candidates must be comfortable and willing to work in all seasonal outdoor weather conditions as operational duties may requireMust have a basic standard of physical fitness, endurance, communication skills and manual dexterity. Position requires the ability to lift and pull a minimum of 50 pounds, as well as stand for extended periodsMust be able to work weekends, holidays and nights.
