FASTSIGNS of Orange is a family owned, independently operated franchisee of FASTSIGNS. We are a fast growing new center that started in the chaos of the pandemic to be the graphics and signage partner of choice in Orange County and beyond! We consult, design, produce, source, and install visual communication assets for our customers. i.e. we don't just make signs! And we have customers from all over Southern California from LA down to San Diego and out to San Bernardino, ranging from some of the largest names in Tech and Auto, down to schools, sports teams, and weddings.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Sales/Business Development
    • Oversee the showroom sales area of the center and be the first point of contact for walk in customers to create a great first impression
    • Answer inbound calls and emails to the center and provide great customer service that will stand out compared to generic responses
    • Convert leads to customers through closing sales in our business management software system quickly and efficiently
    • Maintain relationships and engage with existing customers to generate repeat business to expand products and services provided to customers
    • Cross train and support other team members as needed to get a comprehensive knowledge of the sign business and our operations

Who You Are:

  • You have a great attitude: enjoy learning, work best in a team, and have a strong sense of personal accountability to create high level results for yourself and your team.
  • Highly detail oriented, all our orders are customized with multiple variations, and the larger the order, typically the more complicated. So you have to be able to track the details in the order as well as as it goes through the production queue regardless of the complexity.
  • Enjoy problem solving to meet customer's needs, and go the extra step to help them create the best version of what their solution could look like (Our largest customers are repeat, and some have been with our sales team for years so service is key to our success)
  • Bold and relentless to create customer relationships and generate sales, this includes cold calling, reaching out to inactive customers, attending local networking meetings (We are still growing rapidly and plan to continue expanding for years to come so are looking to build a team who are aggressive and growth minded to make that happen for the business as well as for themselves)
  • Keen service minded and can-do attitude (Things in the sign world from customer issues, vendors, property management, and even weather regularly keep the work challenging)
  • Fluent with Google's G-Suite (We use that heavily as part of our working environment so you need to be technologically proficient)
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs (You may need to help our with production, or delivery of graphics to the customer site, or else help customers load products into their vehicles from our store)
  • Can climb ladders (You may have to conduct site surveys at the customer site and do measurements or help with light sign installation work)
  • Have a valid driver's license (You may have to do site surveys occasionally at the customer site)

Other "Nice" To Haves That Will Put You On The Top Of Our List:

  • Have at least 3 years of sign experience - either in sign sales or sign production or sign installation.
  • Previous experience with CRM/Sales platforms especially Corebridge, also if you have used Hubspot to manage leads and customers
  • Track record of sales experience with high close rates and your own sign customer list
  • Combination of both sign sales and sign production/installation experience
  • Outside sales experience, especially in signs, so able to produce professional draft drawings and presentations to large commercial customers

This Position Is Not For You If:

  • You don't get excited to engage and build relationships with customers, and would rather stay isolated in front of a screen in a quiet corner
  • You're not comfortable asking for the sale and close potential orders, and are afraid of rejection. Thick skin is required both with the sales and project management aspects of the role
  • You don't like being creative and prefer to read a script every single day with a set routine
  • You are looking to clock out at 5pm every day and have the same exact schedule every day with no interruptions

The Nitty Gritty:

  1. Communicate with customers, other staff members and vendors in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Have a positive attitude in all things on a daily basis.
  3. Be the first point of contact for customers that require help to create an estimate or an order.
  4. Monitor all center email, voice mail and other incoming sources of communications during business hours.
  5. Execute the sales objectives as directed by the franchisee and populate the sales and marketing plan.
  6. Support all efforts to grow center sales.
  7. Set a priority to achieve customer satisfaction as defined by brand standards.
  8. Follow up with customers after the completion of the sale, installation or shipment to verify the customer is satisfied with their purchase.
  9. Consultatively sell and make recommendations to prospects and clients using products and services.
  10. Develop and maintain a database of qualified leads that have been gathered through referrals, telephone canvassing, direct mail and email.
  11. Follow up on all new leads and referrals resulting from telephone, marketing and email activity.
  12. Develop an understanding of how to write a good estimate or order with pricing that will attract our customers to purchase.
  13. Write, plan and execute projects that meet customers needs. Follow these projects through their lifecycle to completion, using appropriate documentation and various technologies.
  14. Prepare estimates and proposals for customers. Follow up on those estimates using current estimate follow-up techniques.
  15. Communicate with customers on order status or any changes in the production or installation schedule.
  16. Help keep the installation calendar current.
  17. Execute a variety of marketing functions as determined by the sales and marketing plan and center manager.
  18. Maintain a tour ready retail environment, which includes clean, organized and functional retail spaces.
  19. Support center franchisee or center manager as needed with reports and daily reconciliation
  20. Maintain the correct status of jobs in the workflow process.
  21. Participate in daily center production meetings for all staff and sales meetings as scheduled.
  22. Perform market research, competitive shops and customer surveys.
  23. Identify and resolve customer satisfaction issues.
  24. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
  25. Participate in and practice the brand mentality of "Everybody Sells". Constantly be looking for sales opportunities for the center.
  26. Participate in marketing events such as open house(s) and telemarketing programs.
  27. Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of products and services.
  28. Enhance sales education by attending training classes, webinars or using additional training materials.
  29. Communicate with other staff members, customers, and vendors in a friendly, professional manner.
  30. Maintain skills, keep skills updated and current, and enhance education by attending training classes, webinars or using other training materials.
  31. Have a positive attitude. Be willing to learn and take on new challenges daily.
