Job Summary The Pediatric Neurology Division of the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center has an opening for a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our dedicated team in Danville, Pennsylvania. This extremely collegial and congenial group is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to the children of central and northeast Pennsylvania. In addition to advanced neuromuscular care, the pediatric neurology department also provides a comprehensive epilepsy program, specialized headache care, a pediatric sleep center, and genetic testing and counseling programs. Job Duties Position Highlights Telemedicine and in-person clinic Work within a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, APPs, nurses, and specialty support staff. Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and management of diverse neurological conditions. Opportunities to support specialized programs such as stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, sleep, and headache. Access to state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic resources across Geisinger’s neurosciences service line. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and develop patient-centered care plans. Conduct follow-up visits, medication management, and patient counseling. Collaborate closely with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Document patient encounters accurately within the EMR. The successful Physician Assistant must be a graduate of a ARC-approved physician assistant program, eligible or certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants and eligible or certified by the State Board of Medicine. The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners and must be eligible for or certified by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
