At MOD BIKES, our Garage is the heart of our service operationthis is where we repair, maintain, and assemble bikes for our customers.Were looking for a hands-on Garage Manager to lead this operation in Austin. This role is focused on managing the service department, supporting a team of mechanics, and delivering a smooth and professional customer experience.Youll be responsible for keeping the garage running efficiently, solving technical challenges, and continuously improving processesall while being part of a strong, positive team environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Team LeadershipOversee daily garage operations and workflowLead, support, and manage a team of mechanicsAssign work based on technician skill level and workloadStep in to resolve issues and keep things moving efficientlyMaintain a clean, organized, and high-functioning workspaceCustomer Experience & Service FlowCheck customers in and out for service and repairsCreate and communicate clear service estimatesProvide updates and ensure a smooth overall experienceHandle customer issues when they ariseTechnical & Service OversightDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issuesSupport technicians with more complex repairsWork on bikes as neededProvide phone or video support to customers when requiredWarranty, Fleet & LogisticsHandle warranty cases and coordinate with internal teamsManage fleet maintenance accountsCoordinate occasional bike pickups and deliveriesNew Bike Hand-OffsPrepare and hand off new bikes to customersEnsure bikes are fully ready and properly set upWalk customers through usage, features, and safetyProcess Improvement & PerformanceCreate, document, and improve service processesKeep systems organized and consistently followedImprove efficiency, turnaround time, and team productivityContribute to increasing service revenue and overall profitabilityWhat Were Looking ForStrong mechanical experience (bike or e-bike preferred)Basic understanding of electrical systems (or willingness to learn)Experience leading or managing a teamHighly organized and process-orientedStrong communication skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks at onceComfortable being both hands-on and managing othersTools & SystemsProficient with MacComfortable learning new software quicklyExperience with Asana, Shopify, Slack (or similar tools)Additional ExpectationsTeam player with a positive attitude and good energyAbility to fit into a strong, collaborative team cultureWillingness to work occasional weekends and holidaysNice to HaveExperience in a bike shop, automotive, or similar service environmentE-bike experienceFamiliarity with service/ticketing systemsExperience handling warranty processesApply now and showcase your skills and experience
